Land with Soul
The land was originally developed by an Italian family into a boutique hotel in the 70's, inspired by the Italian Riviera with a collection of stylish bungalows, a tennis court, and distinctive swimming pool. 50 years later, Alethea breathes new life into this stylish and soulful land.
Alethea : Truth
"Up at the highest mountain, down at the deepest sea, what have you found in your life that makes you live forever?" In between the old hotel's swimming pool and tennis court is what once was a disco. It had a palapa roof and tiled dance floor. Along the back wall was a small bar, built of heavy concrete to survive the ages. Rumor has it that adventurous travelers and local Ticos would dance here all night long until the sun came up in the morning. Our first visit to the property in 2020 led us to the disco, where at some point over the years an insightful message and drawing had been scribbled across the front of the bar. The message is more like a gift- for you and for Alethea- and has woven its way into Alethea's ethos. Alethea is the Greek word for Truth. Truth lives forever.
